You’ll design and build your own Optical Dish: a trippy, optical-illusion piece where the patterns inside magnify, shrink, and warp as the glass melts and fuses together in the kiln. No two come out the same, and the reveal is half the fun. Both functional and trippy, these show stoppers are the perfect gift this holiday season. Each participant can make two 4×4 coaster or one 6×6 trivet. Bring friends and create a matching set!
Along the way you’ll learn the principles of fusing and volume control — how glass moves, stacks, and settles with heat — so you walk away understanding the “why” behind the magic, not just the finished piece.
