Looking for a fun, relaxing way to get creative? Join us for a no-stress Make & Take workshop where you’ll design and craft your very own piece of stained glass jewelry—no experience necessary!

In this beginner-friendly session, you'll explore the basics of stained glass in a simple, guided format. We'll walk you through every step:

  • Choose your favourite pieces from our glass stash

  • Learn how to safely cut and shape glass

  • Apply copper foil and solder (using safe, lead-free materials)

  • Make your own unique earrings or a pendant to wear home that day!

 It’s the perfect way to try something new, unwind, and leave with a handmade accessory that’s 100% you. Come solo or bring some friends! 

All materials and tools are provided—just bring your creativity!

We'll be using safe, lead-free solder for a worry-free learning experience.

Class is capped at 8 students, please come wearing closed toed shoes.

Looking to grow a new hobby but short on time? This single-day stained glass workshop is the perfect way to dig into the basics without a long time commitment. You'll learn how to safely cut straight lines in glass, grind, foil, and solder while creating a beautiful geometric sun catcher. Add a vase and it becomes a bud vase or propagation station—perfect for displaying your clippings, some fresh blooms, or just catching some rays. Add a mirror for a little vanity set up— perfect to hang necklaces and earrings.

In this 5-hour class, you will:

  • Select your pattern (Propagation station, Bud vase, Mermaid Mirror, etc)

  • Select glass form our personal stash

  • Learn to cut glass with confidence

  • Grind your pieces for a perfect fit

  • Apply copper foil using the Tiffany method

  • Solder your piece to bring it all together

Date & Time: 11:00am – 4:30pm

Please bring snacks! We will have a 30 min lunch break

Ready to take your stained glass skills to the next level? This one-day intermediate workshop is designed for students with prior stained glass experience looking to deepen their technique and tackle more advanced cuts and design challenges.

In this 5 hour class, you'll build on your foundational skills:

  • Learning which tools to use and when—like grozing pliers, running pliers, and Silberschnitts

  • Cutting complex shapes and interior curves

  • Advanced glass shaping and fitting techniques

  • Manipulating copper foil for cleaner lines

  • Advancing soldering skills with edge beading and decorative solder

  • Learn how to frame your pieces with hobby came

  • Achieving the perfect patina (optional)

Date & Time: 11:00am – 4:30pm

This class moves at a quick pace and assumes you’ve completed a beginner-level project or have outside experience. Please do not book unless you have taken a previous class with us. If you’re looking to design your own project from start to finish, join our most intensive offering, a 5 week class with Greg.

Skill Level: Open Studio is available for past students of Greg and/ or Kristin. You must be familiar with our studio’s rules and confident in your ability to complete a project on your own. We provide the workspace and tools so you can get to workin’!

time: every Thursday 5:30-8:30pm. First Sunday of the month 10-4pm. Please check schedule or text ahead as schedules can change :)

cost:

students (current and past): 3 hour block $15

non-students: 3 hour block $30

Must wear closed toed shoes.

No open containers.

Studio sessions are a great opportunity for past students to continue working on personal projects independently! You will have access to our grinders, soldering irons, and cutting wheels / tools. Please bring your own materials but if you forget anything, we’ve got the goods (for purchase) 😉. If you are looking for guidance or to deepen your stained glass skill set through questions, please take one of our classes or seek private instruction outside of Open Studio hours. Rates start at $100 for 90 minutes.

Access to the Ring saw requires pre-authorization (a separate class held quarterly).

We do not offer project storage at this time.

PROP 65 WARNING

Lead is on the Proposition 65 list because it can cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. Exposure to lead during pregnancy can affect brain development and cause learning and behavior problems for the child. Exposure to lead can harm the reproductive systems of men and women.

Traditional leaded panes or Tiffany copper foil— lead is a key component is stained glass. No matter the technique, we use lead to solder the seams and hold our glass together. While there are lead-free solder alternatives, we will use leaded solder in class. Why lead?

PPE: We will Provide gloves, disposable face masks, and proper ventilation. If you’d like to bring in a respirator for flux fumes, make sure it is rated for VAPOR. With Proper PPE the risks for lead poisoning are small. If you have any health concerns please reach out to your health provider or us.
